Landscaping with Trees
By Lynn Ross

Landscaping with trees can provide contrasting forms and varieties and are the essence of good design.  Choose from many satisfying varieties which are described on this site.

Landscaping with trees can be very rewarding when you learn how to plant them properly, keep them pruned, maintain their health and establish vigorous growth for long-lasting pleasure.

Trees establish the framework of a property-create a personal skyline.  Trees dominte lot layout and plantings for they control visual compostion and ground use around them.  Don't plant too many trees when with trees.

Trees come in all sizes.  Don't plant grand piano trees on a spinet lot.  Property and tree size should match.  Tree shapes influence use.

Plant trees so that you get shade where and when you want it.  Remember, when landscaping with trees, that shade does not stand still.  A tree must be between the sun and an area for the area to be shaded.  For morning shade plant to the ease.  Noon shade falls drectly beneath the tree.  For afternoon shade plant slightly south of  west.  Also consider that the time of year will vary the angle of shade.

Even small trees can block hot afternoon sun effectively.  Degrees of shade areimportant, too.  Dense light, or flickering shade is determined by leaf characteristic of the tree used when with trees.

Trees dispense physical comfort.  They air-condition outdoor living with shade, actual cooling of the air through leaf evaporation processes.

Trees give shelter from prying eye, unpleasant view, wind, noise, and sun.  with trees gives landscape texture a visual beauty by adding form and texture.

Trees are a permanent asset.  Invest and plant with knowledge and care for the greatest success when landscaping with trees.
